well folks its done...thanks to everyone that provided me with support and feedback (and especially exxie for not letting me settle on my first version ;-)

Slush...your amazing man...could have never done any of this with out your technical backup.....your HTML Kwon Do is impressive.

We should have it up and running some time today (Monday 09/07) and I hope you all like it.

yeah i noticed that....no way we would have caught that without uploading here. Im guessing it has something to do with the length of the text or something (notice how the box is bumping uglies with the "Return to Forum Help & Technical Announcements (Outages, etc)" text on the left). Thats a slushy thing so hopefully he'll be able to tweak that.

an easy fix is to reduce the # of characters in your forum titles.

yeah dude it's pretty freakin tite. I also like the admin part where you can actually preview the user account before you approve it. It's very helpful.

that good because I havent looked at any of that shit...lol

most of these new phpbb3 templates are very good at their core. The one I picked here to modify was very clean and was basically a hacked up version of prosilver.....

here is what it looked like when I started

Things changed quite a bit as I went along...my first interpretation was a "brushed aluminum" very slick...very mechanical looking interface something like this....

Nobody liked where I was going with that one so I scrapped the whole idea and decided to go with a very grungy "dirty" feel and It all just kind of happened from there.

Mikey was kind enough to answer all my silly questions....lol...like "how hard would it be to have two headers? one before and one after login"......which eventually morphed into "Mike I want to add a flash header...how hard would it be to have a flash header but only after login?"

So even though I did all this artwork it really wasnt possible without mikey haxoring all this code to make my ideas work. It was a lot of fun to do though. Ive really enjoyed doing it.

yeah i figured enough though you had the quick reply and a few other things i was sure you would want to tweak still left to do it wasnt enough to not warrant pushing live so i went ahead and did it since i couldnt reach you....

im especially glad you like it considering this is the first time you have actually seen my finished product flash in action.
